HUGS is the lifelong effort of Pat and Judy McAtee of Plato Center Il.
Married 34yrs, Pat and Judy began the challenge
by involving themselves in foster care in their own home.
Thirty foster children and ten adoptions later,
thereare no regrets. They contribute, time and resources
to Faith-based non-profits of Chicago Illinois,
in the placement of children from 1 day to 12 years of age
for between 1days stay to months .In this faith-based
program, there are no stipents
and government red tape deluting the efforts to make a real
difference in the lives of mothers and children.
Contributions to this fine organization keep the wheels
turning in a very imortant effort to get families back on
their feet. Your resources can help Pat and Judy continue
in many supportive ways with These HUGS
partners.
Pat and Judy and their stories have been chronicled several
times by Chicago area newspapers and one national magazine publication.
In February, 2008, Judy was selected from among a field of thousands nominated, to be one of ten finalists
for the CVS Pharmacy national CAREGIVER award contest, and
featured on GOOD MORNING AMERICA and cited by REDBOOK magazine.
In March, 2008 Judy was selected as the winner of the National Caregiver award by CVS Pharmacy, and presented the
notice on Good Morning America. We are very proud of her. Much of the proceeds will be directed toward the efforts within
this web site.
